Modern conservation of New Zealand’s rich biodiversity.
Learn about the conservation programs operating on Banks Peninsula to protect rare, threatened and endemic species such as yellow-eyed penguin, little blue white-flippered penguins and sooty shearwater as well as the protection of forest habitat.
Due to the pressures of tourism on unique sea bird species we will not be conducting a tour to visit penguins or other sea birds, we will visit conservation projects and protected forest to gain unique understanding of New Zealand’s environment.
